NEW INITIATIVES
As part of this celebration we have just launched 3 key initiatives that will mark our commitment to our community, to local youth and learning through the arts, and to the scholarly appreciation and interpretation of contemporary art through an increased permanent collection.
As a gift to the Bronx community, the Bronx Museum is offering free admission to everyone, any day. At a time when museums are raising their admission fees, the Bronx Museum is focusing on free access, especially to its immediate community and those in need.
The Bronx Museum strongly believes in the power of arts education in transforming lives, and as such is providing 40 Bronx public schools with no access to the arts, with free art programming at the Museum led by our seasoned teaching artists. This initiative will serve over 10,000 public school students.
The Museum will enhance its permanent collection holdings by adding 40 significant works of art to its collection to enhance the interpretation of these works and share those with audiences City-wide.
What an extraordinary these past four decades have been! And now we are ready to embark on the next forty years through the support of friends like you.
