The second of a three-part exhibition, Intersections: The Grand Concourse Commissions presents specially commissioned projects by three contemporary artists considering present-day conditions along the Grand Concourse: Katie Holten (Ireland), Kabir Carter, and Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao (Taiwan).
In addition, a special Lobby installation by Acconci Studio will significantly alter the Museum architecture.
tree museum is a public art project by Katie Holten. It runs the length of the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, from 138th Street to Mosholu Parkway. The project celebrates the centennial of the boulevard by exploring its communities and ecosystems. Visitors can start their tour of the tree museum at any point on the Grand Concourse – look for the sidewalk markers that identify trees with stories and dial the audio guide at 718-408-2501, followed by a tree's extension number.
Visitor Guides will be available at The Bronx Museum of the Arts and Wave Hill. To download your own Visitor's Guide, click here.
