Biography

E. Lombardo (she/they) is a Queer American Bronx-based printmaker and painter. Their studio practice explores art historical, news, and pop cultural images to recognize entrenched patterns. Their work examines how the narratives we consume and internalize inform our understanding of identity.

Lombardo earned their MFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts in Boston, MA. They received a 2021 BRIO award and are a 2021 Bronx AIM Fellow.

Lombardo’s work has been shown in galleries. universities, and museums nationwide. Their first solo museum show was at the Academy Art Museum in Maryland in 2017, where The Caprichos: Lombardo and Goya featured 80 etchings by both artists. This display engaged the audience to ponder the congruences of past and present, resulting in an intimate recognition of the historical patterns of human behavior.

Their work is in the permanent collections of The Academy Art Museum in Maryland, The Mead Museum at Amherst College, Boston Public Library, Wheaton College, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
