Opening Party The Sixth AIM Biennial (Part One)
All are invited to join us in celebrating the opening of Bronx Calling: The Sixth AIM Biennial on Friday, January 26 from 7 to 9 PM!
This occasion kicks off part one of the Biennial exhibition and features work by 26 artists who participated in the Museum’s flagship AIM Fellowship—a professional development program for artists based in NYC—from 2020 through 2023:
Syd Abady, Aika Akhmetova, Santina Amato, Miguel Braceli, Chris Cook, Walter Cruz, Kim Dacres, Saba Farhoudnia, Ronen Gamil, Judy Giera, Luis Gutierrez, Jennifer Chia-ling Ho, Peter Hoffmeister, Maya Jeffereis, E. Lombardo, Dario Mohr, Joshua Nierodzinski, Jiwon Rhie, Ruth Rodriguez, Yelaine Rodriguez, Ami Park, Fred Schmidt-Arenales, Yesuk Seo, Kyle Utter, Misra Walker, & Junlin Zhu
These artists’ varied and vibrant works collectively highlight the impacts of colonial histories on personal and collective identities. Many of the exhibiting artists will be present at the opening celebration and would appreciate your support!
Pllus, our friends at Uptown Vinyl Supreme—a Bronx based DJ collective and community organization paying homage to the analog roots of music, party, and dance culture—will be spinning records all evening and should not be missed.
This program is free and open to all. Please RSVP via Eventbrite.
