Opening Reception! Dianne Smith: Two Turntables & a Microphone
Hip-hop hooray! Join us for a festive opening celebration of Dianne Smith: Two Turntables & a Microphone, featuring a special live performance by legendary rapper, Slick Rick.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, we will debut Smith’s site-specific multimedia installation. The exhibition celebrates Black joy and expressions of identity that hip-hop has fostered through its community-building power, as evidenced by the parties back in the day.
We anticipate a high turnout and unfortunately are subject to capacity restrictions in our space. Please review the entry guidelines below prior to the event.
Entry Guidelines
- Please arrive at 6pm sharp for check-in.
- Registered guests will receive priority entry starting at 6pm until we reach capacity.
- Once we have reached capacity, we will be unable to allow additional entry, even to those who have pre-registered.
- Please note, it is unlikely that people who have not pre-registered will be allowed entry.
