First Friday: In Bloom
FIRST FRIDAY: IN BLOOM
Friday, March 6 • 6:00 – 9:00 PM • For All Ages
At The Bronx Museum (1040 Grand Concourse)
Optional Dress Code: Purple Chic!
Free! Please RSVP*
On the first Friday of every month, The Bronx Museum throws a free after-hours party called “First Friday!”
This March 6th, we hope you’ll RSVP for free to join us for “First Friday: In Bloom“—a joyful celebration in honor of Women’s History Month and in anticipation of spring! We invite guests to wear purple to mark this occasion.
The event will feature sculptural flower bouquets symbolizing femininity, softness, power, and togetherness created by multidisciplinary artist, Jahmadi. These one-of-a-kind arrangements will be displayed throughout the space, transforming the Museum’s event space into a living garden.
In addition to the flowers, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary beverages and light bites, while supplies last. There will also be an arts and crafts table, where you can make a floral-inspired artwork to take home! Plus, the Museum’s galleries will be open late with the critically acclaimed exhibition, The Seventh AIM Biennial: Forms of Connection, on view for you to explore.
The night will conclude with a raffle—with winners taking home Jahmadi’s signature bouquets! Select arrangements will also be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting The Bronx Museum’s work to uplift underrepresented artists and provide free access to vital and affirming creative experiences.
We look forward to hosting you for this evening of beautiful blooms and vibrant community honoring the beauty of women — past, present, and becoming — as we step into the new season together. RSVP for free now!
*Groups of any size organized privately and through a school, community center, or other entity must register through our Group Tours form at least one week in advance of their visit. Due to capacity limitations, groups are not engaged through this program. Thank you for understanding.

ABOUT JAHMADI
Jahmadi is a multidisciplinary artist working through botanical form. With a foundation in painting and sculpture, she approaches florals as both color field and structure — where composition, balance, tension, and movement are built in real time through living material. Jahmadi’s background in fine art sharpened her sensitivity to contrast, negative space, and emotional composition, with florals becoming the medium where those disciplines converged.
Underground Flora is the practice where this language takes shape. Her floristry is rooted in attentiveness. Arrangements are built intentionally, layering height, depth, and movement so that each bouquet feels less assembled and more grown into its final form. Color is treated painterly; structure is resolved sculpturally. Every piece responds to its environment, shaping the space as much as occupying it. This work is personal to Jahmadi. It’s her intensity in emotion, made visible.
