ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:
The Seventh AIM Biennial features 28 artists who completed the AIM Fellowship in 2024 and 2025, exploring how the creative community formed during the program supported individual practices and strengthened ties to the Museum space.
Founded in 1980, the AIM Fellowship (formerly known as “Artist in the Marketplace ®”) is The Bronx Museum’s prestigious career accelerator program for talented contemporary artists based in New York City.
Each year, the Museum selects 14 artists for the Fellowship through a competitive open call. AIM Fellows are awarded a nine-month curriculum of expert-led seminars that impart the practical knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the art world today.
The application for the 2026 AIM Fellowship is open through October 26, 2025.
After completing the Fellowship, each AI cohort collaborates to plan and facilitate the annual AIM Convening at The Bronx Museum—a free public event focused on professional development and community building for artists. The next Convening, produced by the 2025 AIM Cohort, will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Although AIM ® is not a studio program, The Bronx Museum further uplifts participating artist by presenting a biennial exhibition of their work, accompanied by a fully-illustrated catalogue. The Seventh AIM Biennial imagines the Museum not only as a site of presentation, but also as a catalyst for community, collaboration, and mutual support among artists.
As part of the team that organized the 2024 and 2025 AIM Fellowships, Patrick Rowe, Director of Education & Public Engagement at The Bronx Museum, and Nell Klugman, former Associate Director of the department, bring deep familiarity with each participating artist’s practice to their roles as co-curators of the exhibition.
