As part of The Bronx Museum’s Lifelong Studio program of free art-making classes for adults age 55+, we are delighted to offer a course that explores the fruitful creative intersection of visual art and music!
With guidance from Bronx Museum Educators, participants in this course will create a music playlist and develop a visual identity around it.
Using art-making techniques including illustration, drawing, collage, and printmaking, participants will create a zine (a self-published booklet) that takes readers through an exploration of their selected tracklist.
Throughout the workshops, participants will engage in conversations on how music is used as a storytelling tool, to document moments in time, and how one develops an understanding of themselves through music.
