WORKSHOP SCHEDULE:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2 – 5 PM
October 21 – November 13
As part of The Bronx Museum’s Lifelong Studio program of free art-making classes for adults age 55 and older, we are offering an eight-session clay workshop in tandem with our exhibition Ministry: Reverend Joyce McDonald.
Taking inspiration from artist Joyce McDonald’s intuitive approach to sculpture, participants in this workshop will explore their creativity through the versatile medium of air-dry clay.
After reviewing foundational clayworking techniques, workshop participants will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to a variety of materials. By the end of the course, participants will have created mixed media portraits that reflect the care and memories they share with the subject of their work. Artwork created in this class will be included in a student exhibition at The Bronx Museum.
