'Lifelong Studio: Alternative Archives' Exhibition Audio Supplement
Gladys Ramirez
Listen to Lifelong Studio participant and artist Gladys Ramirez speak about her piece titled Things Of My Past. In this audio, Ramirez describes the images in her collage, ranging from her communion to photos of her children, and how working with them brought back many happy memories. By participating in the Lifelong Studio program at The Bronx Museum, Ramirez has found the artistic media and processes she enjoys working with most. She hopes that through her artwork, she can show others that “everyday people can do art.”
Nina Valentin
Listen to multidisciplinary artist and Lifelong Studio participant Nina Valentin describe her artwork titled Blues In The Breeze. Valentin describes the creation of the artwork using cyanotypes and watercolor. She hopes that her work will show the love she has “for The Bronx, for her family, and for her people.”
Barbara Flaxman
